How would you define love?

As a whole, our global society has developed an unusual way of showing love. The one who is on top of the world, the world is challenging and determined to bring them down. You may recall the Martha Stewart story. Yes, she may very well have been wrong in her ethics, no question, and yet, had Jesus been the judge, He probably would have said something similar to the court as He did to the accusers of a woman caught in adultery, about to be stoned, such as: (John 8:7) They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

One might say this to be a display of ‘Agape Love’ in action. Perhaps true wisdom at work as, Jesus went on in verses 10 & 11 by saying the following:

10 Then Jesus stood up again and said to the woman, “Where are your accusers? Didn’t even one of them condemn you?”

11 “No, Lord,” she said.

And Jesus said, “Neither do I. Go and sin no more.”

So the question stated, in which yours truly would love some feedback, although this blog is not marketed online, nor does he use social media that has stolen and continues to steal the minds and lives of millions, if not billions, “How would you define love?” is here for sharing in the comment section. Go ahead! Be honest and transparent! Tell us how you feel, and/or share what you think of Jesus’ approach to the matter.

Do you like the person looking back at you in the mirror?

Yours truly is a believer that this is where it all starts; “Do you like the person looking back at you in the mirror?” We must first love ourselves in order to begin loving others. At the same time, in defence of the majority unable to love themselves, if honest, society is under a powerful oppression for which it is not as familiar as it should be; the so called red devil with horns and a pitchfork, may not be the best illustration, but he is indeed very real.

1 John 3:8 tells us that the devil has been sinning since the beginning: But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.

1 Peter 5:8 tells us: Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

From a personal perspective, it was about one week after my second wife asked me to leave the matrimonial home, second divorce on its way, when I was given a book entitled, ‘The Power of Positive Thinking,” to quickly discover the true meaning behind the line in Amazing Grace that says: “I was blind but now I see.”

Until we surrender to the One who put us here, placing our trust in Him, letting Him lead us, and not try and do so ourselves, we will continue living blind to what is actually taking place around us, day in and day out, listening to the bad news void of a means to defend the mind from listening, until we simply shut down, and become like robots going through the motions of life one day at a time … missing life itself; so what about you, do you like the person looking back at you in the mirror?

PS: By faith, consider the following piece of scripture, if you should find yourself going through the motions of life missing life itself … or more so … if you are not liking the person looking back at you in the mirror; because GOD DOESN’T MAKE JUNK!

Romans 10:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

PPS: John 16:33 tells us: “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
